The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1996. At present, we provide BS Study (two classes), MS Study, and Ph.D. Study. To meet national industries’ need for upgrades, the establishment and development of this department emphasize the R&D of advanced information technology, enthusiastically cultivate professionals in information software and hardware, and strive for investigating the theories of information science and the R&D of relevant applications and technologies. Both theories and practical applications are equally valued.
Focuses of Development
The department aims to foster professional information talents and actively participates in critical domestic research projects. The major research directions include the following five fields:
- Internet Multimedia Technology
- Information Systems Engineering
- Embedded Systems and VLSI
- Theory of Computation
- Application of Marine Information
Curriculum Features
The courses of this department are based on “information,” and the goal is to cultivate information talents. Therefore, the department provides professional training courses and environment necessary for the undergraduate and postgraduate studies of information engineering. Furthermore, to meet the need of information technology for rapidly progressing development in academies and industries, the department purchased teaching materials, software, and hardware necessary for new professionalism to expand students’ vision and enrich their knowledge and skills.
